Aim
Improve the capacity of the Irish Crossborder Corridor area to adopt to and compete in the Information Society by developing and implementing innovative "e-services", and fostering collaborative learning and knowledge sharing.
Approach
The BCDEN project approach focuses on the implementation of a limited number of pilot "e-services" which can demonstrate innovative uses of the Internet and new technologies, to public service and business users.
These pilot e-services have been identified and developed by representatives of the public, retail, tourism and community sectors themselves , mainly through a series of workshops within each of the three "sub-areas" that make up the Irish Crossborder Corridor.
A key aspect of the approach is to ensure that the pilots selected for each sector and sub-area meet the economic development priorities identified by the sub-area development secretariats (NWCBRG, ICBAN and EBR) and that the pilots, approaches and know-how are shared across the entire Crossborder Corridor.
Objectives
Increase the use of e-Services by public service users and staff, visitors to the area, communities and education users.
Improve awareness of the possibilities of, and help develop skill levels in use of, the Internet and new technologies for business and public service improvement.
